Rather than expecting a close-up, everyday setting and stage to look identical, begin by describing the conditions in which your piece will actually be used.
From where will it be seen?
An editorial close-up and a performance viewed at a distance need different consideration. Explain the setting behind your references.
Think about movement
The conversation should include comfort and movement, not just a still image. Where possible, ask to review a sample in conditions close to the intended setting.
An image is not a material specification
Retouching, cameras and screens can change appearance. Where possible, review a real sample for colour and materials. A photograph does not establish stock, brand or durability.
