You do not need every answer at the beginning. A useful brief separates what you know from what is still undecided.
Describe the intended effect
Instead of simply asking to change a jacket, explain where you will wear it and what you want it to express. A subtle accent or a statement seen from a stage?
Say what must stay
The cut, buttons, a sentimental detail or existing decoration. Identifying what should not change helps define the boundaries of a design.
Share what you actually know
The care label, product information, event date and budget approach can help. Do not guess an unknown material; “I do not know” is useful information.
Understand the limits of photographs
A photograph can show shape and visible condition. It cannot alone prove how fabric will respond to heat, weight or an application. Physical review or a sample may be needed.

Ask for a concise brief with uncertainties listed separately. Do not share entire private conversations. Review the final content yourself before sending it.
